Yoga for New Mums

Life after birth is enormously different and a period of rest is essential to adjust to your new family status. However, too much rest doesn’t help blood circulation and may even delay healing. Some gentle exercises can be introduced from the first day and others added when appropriate to build up over time. It is essential not to focus entirely on the baby and to neglect one’s own well-being. Postpartum yoga will depend greatly on the individual birth experience and your own interpretation of yoga. There are ways of integrating your baby into your exercise as he/she grows. He/she can be useful and have fun too.

You should feel free to join in the class when it suits you and your baby and to rest, feed or change a nappy at any stage. This is a friendly relaxed class and noise, feeding, chatting etc. are part of the experience. You are welcome to stay for a cuppa and chat after the class.

Classes are offered on a one-to-one basis or in groups.
